About United Cooking
Connecting cultures, one recipe at a time
Our Story
Every culture has dumplings. From Chinese jiaozi to Polish pierogi, from Argentinian empanadas to Indian samosas — the idea of wrapping delicious filling in dough is a universal human instinct.
United Cooking was born from this realization. When you look at the world’s cuisines side by side, the differences melt away and the connections become undeniable. A pot of rice is a celebration in West Africa (jollof), a comfort in Japan (onigiri), a masterpiece in Spain (paella), and the heart of a Persian table (tahdig).
We are a cookbook and a community. Our 200 recipes span 50+ countries and 34 categories, each one carefully written to be authentic, approachable, and honest about its roots.
Our Philosophy
Global, Not Gimmicky
These aren’t “inspired by” dishes. They’re real recipes from real kitchens, written with respect for where they come from and excitement about where they’re going.
Connection Over Competition
We don’t debate whose jollof is better or where hummus originated. We celebrate that these dishes exist everywhere — because that’s the point.
The United Table
Many of our recipes are communal by nature — hot pots, fondue, mezze boards. Food is better when it’s shared, and so are the stories behind it.
Fusion With Integrity
Our Border & Fusion chapter celebrates the beautiful accidents of culinary collision — Korean-Mexican, Peruvian-Japanese, and more. The best food evolves.
