Chinese Lo Mein
Chewy egg noodles tossed with vegetables and your choice of protein in a savory soy-based sauce. The takeout favorite.
Ingredients
- 12 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
- 1/2 lb chicken, beef, or shrimp
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (cabbage, carrots, bell pepper, mushrooms)
- 2 cloves garlic
- Sauce: 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp dark soy sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp sugar
- Vegetable oil
- Scallions

Cook noodles according to package, drain, and rinse with cold water.

Heat oil in a wok. Stir-fry protein until cooked. Remove.

Add more oil. Stir-fry garlic and vegetables for 3 minutes.

Return protein. Add noodles and sauce. Toss everything together over high heat for 2 minutes.

Top with scallions and serve.
