American Buttermilk Pancakes
Tall, fluffy, golden pancakes with crispy edges. The classic American breakfast.
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Butter, maple syrup

Whisk dry ingredients in a large bowl.

Whisk buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla in another bowl.

Pour wet into dry and stir just until combined (lumps are fine — don't overmix).

Heat a griddle over medium heat. Brush with butter. Pour 1/4 cup batter per pancake.

Cook until bubbles form and edges set, about 2 minutes. Flip and cook 1 more minute. Serve hot with butter and maple syrup.
